Olivet University is a private Christian institution dedicated to preparing students for leadership, ministry, and service through faith-centered education. Since its founding, Olivet has remained committed to integrating biblical truth with academic excellence, developing servant-leaders who are equipped to make a meaningful impact in the world.
The university began its journey in 2000 as the Olivet Theological College & Seminary (OTCS). Initially, it served as a seminary designed to train men and women for global missions and ministry. OTCS provided a foundation in theological education and offered distance learning to reach students internationally. Its vision was clear to nurture believers who would use their knowledge and faith to serve others. As the institution grew, so did its mission and outreach.
In 2004, under the leadership and inspiration of the late Dr. Ralph D. Winter, OTCS became Olivet University. This change marked a new era, expanding the school’s focus from solely theological education to a broader Christian university model. The transition reflected a vision of creating a “sanctuary of truth” where faith, knowledge, and practical skills could work together in harmony. Olivet’s mission has always been to prepare the next generation of servant-leaders, people who can apply their faith to real-world challenges and bring positive change to their communities.
Located in the peaceful Anza Valley, California, Olivet University provides a serene environment that fosters reflection, study, and spiritual growth. The campus fosters both academic and personal development, creating an environment that encourages students to develop in wisdom and faith. Beyond Anza, Olivet has expanded across the United States, with campuses in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, St. Louis, Orlando, Nashville, and Washington, D.C. This national presence allows Olivet to reach diverse communities while maintaining a unified vision rooted in Christian education.
Faith and community are at the heart of life at Olivet. Students participate in chapel services, prayer meetings, and small group Bible studies that deepen their understanding of Scripture and strengthen their faith. They also participate in volunteer programs and outreach events, serving local families, supporting charities, and assisting with various missions. These hands-on experiences foster compassion and humility, reinforcing the university’s belief that authentic learning comes from a combination of study and service.
Olivet’s faculty and staff are deeply committed to mentoring students in both academics and faith. Professors guide learners not only in their fields of study but also in developing integrity, wisdom, and leadership grounded in Christian values. Visiting speakers, pastors, and alums share insights that connect classroom learning with real-life ministry and professional experience.
Today, Olivet University continues to uphold its mission of combining faith and education to prepare leaders who serve God’s kingdom. Through its programs, partnerships, and service opportunities, Olivet remains a place where students grow in knowledge, character, and faith, ready to make a lasting difference in their communities and throughout the world.
